ANUA 8 Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Gentle Gel Cleanser 150ml

The gel cleanser that leaves skin more hydrated than before you washed. The ANUA 8 Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Gentle Gel Cleanser is a breakthrough Korean daily face wash that completely flips the cleansing equation — a hydrating gel cleanser formulated with 8 kinds of Hyaluronic Acid and Squalane to deliver hydration to skin and prevent moisture loss, while deeply cleansing pores , all in a lightweight gel that lathers into a soft, cushiony foam and rinses away without a trace of dryness or tightness.

Enriched with Ectoin and Glyceryl Glucoside to moisturise skin while strengthening and regulating the skin's moisture barrier — and containing Ceramide NP to soothe irritation and further prevent moisture loss — this is the cleanser that makes every skin type feel genuinely comfortable from the very first rinse.

Why it works:

  • 8 types of Hyaluronic Acid (Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Potassium Hyaluronate, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate) — a complete multi-molecular weight HA system that actively deposits hydration at every depth of the skin during cleansing, so moisture levels are rising rather than falling throughout the wash

  • Squalane — balances oil production and keeps the skin smooth and soft  — structurally identical to the Squalane naturally produced by human skin, it conditions without clogging pores and gives the formula its signature non-stripping, comfortable finish

  • Ectoin — soothes irritated skin and helps maintain skin hydration and a healthy moisture balance  — a powerful stress-protection molecule originally found in extremophile microorganisms that shields the skin barrier from environmental and thermal stressors during the cleansing process

  • Glyceryl Glucoside (Aquaporin activator) — stimulates the skin's natural water transport channels (aquaporins) to draw moisture deeper into the skin rather than simply sitting at the surface — a smart hydration mechanism that improves long-term moisture retention with daily use

  • Ceramide NP — a skin-identical lipid that strengthens the skin barrier, soothes sensitivity, and helps reduce moisture loss — the essential lipid that holds skin cells together and keeps the barrier intact, rarely found at an effective level in rinse-off cleansers

How to use: Thoroughly cleanse makeup residue with a cleansing oil first. Dispense an adequate amount of the cleanser into your hands. Add a small amount of water and rub to create enough gel. Gently massage onto your face in circular motions, then rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Suitable for morning and evening use as a standalone cleanser or as the second step of a double cleanse.

Suitable for: All skin types · Especially dry and sensitive skin  · Oily & combination skin · Dehydrated & barrier-damaged skin · Daily AM and PM use · Fragrance-free · Made in Korea 🇰🇷

Why Seoulma recommends it:

ANUA has built two of the most distinctly positioned cleansers in the K-Beauty lineup — and the Moisturizing Gentle Gel Cleanser and the Hyaluronic Acid Foaming Cleanser are genuinely different products designed for different skin needs, not variations on the same formula. Where the foaming version leads with Panthenol and Zinc PCA for barrier repair and sebum regulation, the gel version leads with Squalane, Ectoin, and Ceramide NP for a deeper, richer hydration and barrier-building experience. Understanding that distinction helps our customers choose the right one for their skin.

The Ectoin is the ingredient that makes this cleanser stand out in the hydrating cleanser category specifically. Most hydrating cleansers rely entirely on Hyaluronic Acid to do the moisture work — add water-binding HA, rinse it mostly away, hope some remains. Ectoin works completely differently: it is a stress-protection molecule that forms a hydration shell around cell membranes, protecting them from osmotic stress during the cleansing process itself. While the HA is binding water and the Ceramide NP is sealing the barrier, the Ectoin is shielding the underlying skin cells from the mechanical and chemical stress of being washed — so the skin's own moisture regulation mechanisms remain fully functional rather than being temporarily disrupted by cleansing.

The Squalane inclusion at a meaningful concentration is also a formulation decision that our driest-skinned customers consistently respond to. Standard cleansers are designed to remove oil — which is exactly what makes them drying. Squalane, being structurally identical to the Squalane the skin naturally produces as part of its sebum, is not recognised as a foreign oil to be removed. It stays on the skin through the rinse, conditioning the surface and supporting the natural lipid barrier without contributing to breakouts or heaviness. For skin that has always felt uncomfortably tight after washing regardless of which gentle cleanser it tried, the Squalane in this formula is typically the reason that cycle finally breaks.
